Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile,
item upgrading is one of the
Best item upgrade ways to upgrade your gear without relying upon large-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your items.
Upgrades to equipment provide an increase in the item's stats. The bonus increases with upgrade component's level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components can make your weapons and armour better. They can be found by destroying enemies, purchasing them from karma vendors or finding them in the form of item-spheres. You can also get them from equipment that has the components, or by utilizing high-tier salvage kits such as Black Lion Salvage Kit and Ascended Salvage Tool. Contrary to other products, upgrade components are not destroyed when removed from an item.
Upgrade components are typically used to upgrade an item, however, they can also be used for other purposes. They can be stacked in order to increase the level or experience gained from upgrading existing weapons or gear. They can be made for additional benefits. A crafted glyph can increase the chance of upgrading its target while a boost upgrade increases the attack or defense capabilities of the weapon.
You can connect an
upgrade item template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will display the upgrade components that the item can be updated. You can also use the workbench for selecting an upgrade template. In either instance the item will be upgraded once enough upgrade components have been collected.
Each component has a unique experience multiplier. This determines the amount of experience an item can gain when upgraded using that component. For instance, organic components give more experience multipliers than mechanical ones. It is therefore best to upgrade with organic components until you have reached the multiplier of experience for the next level of the weapon or gear, then change to mechanical upgrades.
Each item comes with an upgrade limit number that can be received. The number of upgrades available is determined by its upgradeable rank and the type of upgrade for the upgradeable item. For example, the highest possible weapon upgrade is a tier 10 weapon. However, the most commonly used weapon upgrades are an tier 6 weapon as well as a tier 5 armor upgrade.
Sets
A set is a collection of objects which all have the same bonus. Each item can be upgraded at the least once. The upgrade will increase the amount of bonuses you can expect to receive. When you first upgrade an item or set piece will give it a +1 increase to its primary stat. Following upgrades, primary stats are increased even more (for instance the +1 bonus for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded, one of its additional stats is increased randomly.
Upgrades can also boost a weapon's damage base. This could be crucial for certain types of builds. Weapons cannot be upgraded for an increased maximum defence roll than their base. It's possible to increase the value of certain sets and unique items by upgrading them, but they're not always superior to a higher-level Runeword.
If an item you're upgrading has a guarantee bonus that is guaranteed, it can be rerolled only once, and then its guarantee will reset to 0. Rerolling costs the same amount of power dice as the process of leveling an item, but the new item will offer different extra bonuses. The NPC [ArmorBoboko Boboko can upgrade your armor in Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you'll require a power dice of each type (Dice 4 or 6 drop from monsters 21+ and Giants; dice 7 drops from bosses) and the appropriate amount of Minerals and Erons. These are available at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collector, and are available for purchase with Gold. NPCs also offer special rewards for each stage of the upgrade process. This reward is rerollable once, and the reroll will be made using the same materials as the original item.
Rerolling
A player can reroll any item acquired in the game provided they have enough tokens. If an upgraded item is rerolled, it will be exchanged for a version that is level 1 of the same item in another set. Reroll tokens are available at the store for a small sum of in-game currency. They cannot be refunded. The upgraded item will still have the extra bonuses of the first however its stats will differ too.
In addition to rerolling items players can also alter the identification of any equipment by engaging with an upgrader NPC. This will change the identity from an armor to a weapon or vice versa, while keeping its basic stats and attributes that are required. The change will last for a long time and affect all characters who own the equipment.
Players can also boost the level of their item on any equipped equipment by obtaining upgrade components and interacting with the upgrader NPC of the item. This will cost a certain number of crests and Valorstones depending on the upgrade track and item type. For weapons, each step up will add an additional five percent to the damage.
Upgrades can boost the power of an item, but they can also reduce the quality of an item. Therefore, it is important to find a balance between these two. Some items aren't worth upgrading, while other items require upgrading to make them more effective. A player may want to upgrade the breakpoint armor by adding an interesting modifier (% block chance or FHR) to discover what it could be.
Rerolling is a popular practice in Genshin Impact and other gacha-based games. People do it to try to obtain a character or weapon they would not otherwise be able to acquire. These items can be time-consuming and expensive to obtain and the RNG doesn't always play nice. The only alternative is to invest money or grind a lot. Rerolling is extremely popular in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
When upgrading an item you can choose to upgrade the weapon or armor. This feature isn't available in the current version of the game. I think this feature was designed to increase the value of rare and expensive items. However, since most gear is replaced fairly quickly, and can only be upgraded one level, you'll usually replace it before it becomes too old. It's also not worth upgrading items with gem sockets because the power of the gemstone will outweigh any increment in ilvl.
You will be presented with a small box when you click the upgrade option for an item. It will display the item's template, the crest, and the Valorstone cost to raise the level of the item. Weapons and armor will have different prices, with the latter usually being more expensive. The upgrade template outlines the stats that will be added to an upgraded item along with its current base ilvl.
The crest and Valorstone costs are calculated according to the item's current ilvl and the upgrade template. The ilvl is also reduced by the upgrade template's reduction percentage for lvl. For example an upgrade of 8% will reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8%.
In addition to the base ilvl boost the item will also get upgrades in other stats, such as critical strike damage, PvE damage and dodge, block and parry rating. These enhancements are also based on the upgrade template.
The amount of damage and defense that the item is able to receive as it gets leveled up can be observed below the cost and upgrade decrease percentages in the
upgrade items template window. All armor and weapons that are not practice equipment gain these stats upon leveling up. The value of these stats will be determined by the market, with a perfectly rolled version of a weapon or piece of armor can command significantly higher trade values than non-upp'd versions. This is also true for other pieces of armor, like tiaras and circlets.
